Since 2023, the ICRC has assisted in transferring more than 2,500 released detainees through this mechanism. However, the organization noted Israel has denied access to Palestinian detainees held in Israeli detention centers since October 2023, calling for disclosure of detainee locations and family communication rights. Al Jazeera correspondent Tareq Abu Azzoum reported from Gaza City that Israel has intensified airstrikes, particularly targeting makeshift tents in Gaza City and the al-Mawasi area—a zone designated as safe under last year's ceasefire agreement. In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers entered Al-Aqsa Mosque under police protection, touring courtyards and performing rituals in the eastern compound. Palestinian worshippers faced restrictions, with some blocked from entering and others having their identity cards confiscated. In Hebron, Israeli forces prevented the call to prayer at Ibrahimi Mosque for the eighth consecutive day, according to mosque officials. Additional raids across the West Bank included footage of live ammunition being used against a Palestinian man in Qalandiya camp, arrests in Bethlehem and Nablus, and the detention of journalist Anas al-Hawari in Sebastia. Palestinian organizations warned of escalating attacks on medical personnel and civil society groups, calling for international intervention to secure the release of detained doctors and address conditions faced by Palestinian women prisoners.
