Israeli UN Ambassador Offers Starlink Device to Iranian Delegation

Israeli United Nations Ambassador Danny Danon shared a video on social media on Thursday, documenting his approach to the Iranian UN delegation to offer the Starlink internet device highlighted during Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address for the Iranian people.

“I deemed it appropriate to provide you with the Starlink,” Danon told the delegation. “It could be highly beneficial for you to enable the Iranian people to achieve their freedom after what you have inflicted upon them. Will you take it and deliver it back to Tehran?”

After receiving no response from the delegation, Danon added, “We hold affection for the Iranian people and pray for a regime change in their country.”

The Iranian population was once again plunged into an internet blackout, which lasted until mid-May 2026 when connectivity was restored following a record-breaking 88-day disruption.

The Islamic Republic of Iran faces mounting pressure from hardline media outlets and figures to escalate the conflict by severing the international fiber-optic cables running beneath the Strait of Hormuz and the Arab Gulf.

Hossein Shariatmadari, managing editor of the ultra-conservative Kayhan newspaper, insisted earlier this month that disrupting or severing the internet cables was a “necessary measure” in response to the “crimes of America and its wicked allies.”
