Italian authorities conducted searches on Thursday at the offices of several luxury brands, including Bulgari and Chanel, as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of labor exploitation through subcontractors employing workers under questionable conditions.

The investigations are part of a broader probe by Milan prosecutors, which has uncovered suspicions of labor exploitation within the supply chains of prominent luxury labels such as Prada, Givenchy, and Dolce & Gabbana.
Additional implicated brands include Brunello Cucinelli, Etro, Goyard Italie, Jacob Cohen Company, Moncler, and Stefano Ricci, as confirmed by Milan prosecutor Paolo Storari to AFP, according to Il Sole 24 Ore.
Several companies, including Loro Piana, were previously placed under temporary judicial oversight due to concerns over supplier labor practices. These restrictions were lifted after the firms committed to enhanced supply chain monitoring.
Italy’s government has historically defended luxury brands, with Industry Minister Adolfo Urso previously stating that the sector’s reputation was “under attack”.
