Jack Black’s Black Sabbath tribute band, Jack Sabbath, delivered an unforgettable performance at Tom Morello’s Power to the People Festival, reunited with original Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler for a legendary rendition of “War Pigs.”

Taking the stage at Columbia, Maryland’s Merriweather Post Pavilion, Black and his young, star-studded band — featuring Tom Morello’s son Roman on guitar, Scott Ian’s son Revel on bass, teenaged Japanese drummer Yoyoka Soma, and keyboardist Hugo Weiss — opened their three-song set with Ozzy Osbourne’s “Mr. Crowley” and Black Sabbath’s “The Wizard” before Butler emerged to join the tribute band on “War Pigs”:

Butler, who was listed among the artists on the Power to the People lineup, praised Soma in particular on social media after the performance, calling her “an amazing drummer.”

Jack Sabbath made their debut in 2023 to perform “Mr. Crowley” at the 100th birthday party of Tom Morello’s mother Mary. Two years later, Black and his young band recreated Osbourne’s “Mr. Crowley” video in 2025 for Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert. Between those two Jack Sabbath performances, Black delivered Osbourne’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame speech when the singer was inducted as a solo artist in 2024, famously saying: “This motherfucker invented Heavy Metal, along with Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and the immortal Tony Iommi, the darkest, heaviest shit the world had ever heard. He invented a genre, then had the greatest second act come back in rock history.”
