Twin Temple, the married duo of Alexandra and Zachary James, specializes in Satanic‑themed doo‑wop. Their brand is unmistakable, with tracks such as “Let’s Have a Satanic Orgy,” “Lucifer, My Love,” “Burn Your Bible,” and “Sex Magick” that mimic authentic 1960s doo‑wop while lyrically devoted to Satan worship. It’s surprising that anyone would book them without grasping their act, yet it appears a misunderstanding occurred.
The duo had been slated to open two dates for outlaw country stalwart Charley Crockett next week, but a statement released Wednesday indicates Crockett removed them from the bill because of their Satanic imagery. “We are sorry to everyone who was planning to see us,” they wrote. “We appreciate your support—not only for Twin Temple, but, more importantly, for artistic freedom. HAIL SATAN!”
Jack White took notice. The artist, whose new album Frozen Charlotte drops today, posted on Instagram a short while ago offering them a slot. “Twin Temple, would you like to open my show in Los Angeles on September 29 at the Hollywood Palladium?” he wrote. “Let me know. Get in front of me, Satan!” The exchange has drawn amused reactions from fans.
