The Bengals’ performance in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Ravens left wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase displeased.

Baltimore led 13-0, and the Bengals managed only 59 yards on 20 offensive plays, prompting Chase to tell his teammates that the effort was unacceptable.

“I came in here screaming, saying, ‘Someone needs to make a play for us, someone has to make a play,’ Chase said, via Ben Baby of ESPN.com. ‘And I told our offense that we can’t just watch the defense; we have to step up and make something happen.’”

Chase could have a future as a motivational speaker. The Bengals erupted for 35 points and accumulated 298 yards in the second half of a 35-13 victory that unfolded in an unlikely manner.

Chase and his teammates will aim to maintain momentum heading into next Sunday’s home matchup against the Titans.
