A heated dispute has erupted between wrestlers Joey Janela and Bully Ray over a dangerous flaming table spot performed during GCW Fight Club’s 2024 War Games match. The stunt, which involved Janela being forced through a table set ablaze, left him with severe burns.

Nearly two years after the incident, Janela publicly criticized Ray, alleging that the wrestler did not properly secure the table, applied excessive lighter fluid, and failed to follow up on Janela’s well‑being after the injury. In a statement released on social media, Janela expressed frustration that Ray did not check on him following the event.

Ray responded by claiming that Janela had asked to participate in the spot and had ignored safety warnings. He maintained that he had been a last‑minute replacement for the show, that Janela had supplied the lighter fluid and lamp oil, and that he was not aware of the extent of the danger involved.

Janela countered by stating that he did not request the flaming table stunt, that the spot had been pre‑planned by the booking team, and that he had trusted his colleague, Matt Cardona, who had guaranteed his safety. He emphasized that he had not begged or cried during the incident and that, after the injury, he sought treatment at a burn unit in Philadelphia. He also highlighted that Ray never reached out to him post‑injury, which motivated his public remarks.

In a separate post, Janela accused Ray of inappropriate behavior on the Jersey Shore, claiming he spends Sundays in a nightclub purchasing drinks for young patrons. Janela labeled Ray as a “fraud” and expressed strong disdain for his character and actions.

Supporting Janela’s account, fellow wrestler Justin Finn posted a video and accompanying comments detailing the extent of Janela’s burns and the lack of assistance received from Ray. Finn noted that the protective shirt covering part of Janela’s back did not catch fire and that the affected skin was severe.
