TOKYO – Japan’s Green Transformation (GX) Acceleration Agency has committed funding to two emerging technology firms specializing in nuclear fusion and plastic recycling, driving a combined total of 20 billion yen ($125 million) in public-private capital, according to Nikkei. The agency’s support for Kyoto Fusioneering and JEPLAN aligns with its broader strategy to channel 370 trillion yen in investments across 17 priority sectors by fiscal 2040, underscoring Japan’s commitment to advancing sustainable innovation in critical industries.
