TOKYO — The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) confirmed Wednesday that one of its RQ-4B Global Hawk unmanned surveillance drones crashed after losing contact with ground controllers, following the identification of debris spotted floating off the coast of Tottori Prefecture in western Japan as belonging to the aircraft. An investigation team has been dispatched to determine the cause of the accident.
