Following the 2023 trade of Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones drew comparisons to the controversial Herschel Walker deal from 1989. Jones repeated this comparison during a recent interview, underscoring his long-standing perspective on draft strategy.

“Even though acquiring an elite talent like Micah comes with obvious appeal, the outcome aligns with my vision for the team’s future,” Jones said, acknowledging the trade’s divisive nature while emphasizing his strategic rationale.
