Jersey Hosts Nepal and UAE in Upcoming 50-Over International fixtures
Jersey will face Nepal and the United Arab Emirates in 50-over matches next month as part of their preparation for the final round of ICC Challenge League matches in October.
The fixtures will also serve as warm-up games for Nepal and UAE, who face Netherlands and Scotland respectively in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
Jersey secured a seven-wicket victory against Nepal during their previous encounter 11 years ago in the final round of T20 World Cup qualifying. However, the UAE defeated Jersey by 66 runs in a 50-over fixture during a World Cup qualifier in 2023.
Currently positioned fifth in the eight-team Cricket World Cup League 2, Nepal will meet Jersey on Monday 13 July and Wednesday 15 July at Grainville. The UAE, who are eighth in the standings, will visit Jersey on Saturday 27 July and Monday 29 July.
Should both teams finish outside the top four in their respective leagues, they could face Jersey in the World Cup Qualifier play-off, provided Jersey maintains their position at the top of the Challenge League group.
“This is hugely valuable for our players and an exciting opportunity for cricket fans,” said Jersey Cricket chief executive Sarah Gomersall. “We are also proud that NCC Grainville continues to be recognised as a venue capable of supporting international cricket and broadcasting the game to audiences worldwide.”
