The New York Jets placed three players on injured reserve Tuesday and may be without another key offensive contributor for their upcoming Week 3 matchup in Detroit.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, tight end Mason Taylor is listed as week-to-week following a thumb injury. The team will provide their initial injury report of the week on Wednesday.
Taylor has started both of the Jets’ first two games this season. However, he was held without a reception in Sunday’s loss to the Green Bay Packers, and his two catches in the season-opening win over the Tennessee Titans resulted in a two-yard loss total.
The tight end position depth includes first-round selection Kenyon Sadiq, Jeremy Ruckert, and Jelani Woods on the 53-man roster.
