Chip Trayanum was awake and alert, moving his extremities, as he was transported from MetLife Stadium to a local hospital Friday night, the Jets announced.
The undrafted rookie suffered the injury on the final play of the first half when he was run over shortly after receiving a handoff from Cade Klubnik.
The Jets initially listed Trayanum as out with a neck injury before confirming he had been hospitalized.
He lay on the turf for several minutes while teammates gathered around; medical staff placed a neck brace on him before he was placed on a cart and removed from the field.
A fully healthy Trayanum could still earn a spot on the practice squad, as the Jets have solidified their backfield with starters Breece Hall, Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis and return specialist Kene Nwangwu.
Before the injury, Trayanum had impressed with 12 carries for 38 yards and a touchdown, plus two receptions for 25 yards.
