Speaking to reporters ahead of Wednesday’s practice, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor expressed uncertainty regarding the extent of quarterback Joe Burrow’s participation.
Ultimately, Taylor’s remarks may have been either cautious optimism or strategic gamesmanship. Footage from the open portion of the session revealed Burrow operating without any restrictions, and the quarterback was completely omitted from the team’s official injury report. This indicates he is fully prepared for Sunday’s upcoming contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Burrow had previously carried a questionable designation into Week 2 due to a back ailment. During that matchup, he was overheard telling teammates that a hit from Houston Texans defensive end Will Anderson had actually popped his rib back into proper alignment.
On the defensive side, tackles Jonathan Allen (knee) and B.J. Hill (Achilles) were absent from practice. Additionally, wide receiver Andrei Iosivas (thumb) did not participate and has been placed on injured reserve, ruling him out for a minimum of four games.
