Jordan Secures Five Bidder Commitments for Record‑Breaking 120,000‑Ton Barley Tender
HAMBURG – Five trading firms are among the bidders in an ongoing international tender announced Wednesday, sourced from Jordan’s state grain purchaser seeking up to 120,000 tons of animal‑feed barley.
So far, the participants include the houses Bunge, Soufflet, Al Ghurair, Dreyfus and Olam.
While no purchases have been confirmed yet, outcomes are slated for release later today, according to traders.
The tender calls for consignment windows ranging from 50,000 to 60,000 tons across four scheduled periods in 2027—January 1‑15, January 16‑31, February 1‑14, and February 15‑28.
In its prior barley tender held on 14 October, Jordan acquired roughly 60,000 tons at $307 per ton, inclusive of cost and freighthand, with delivery planned for the second half of January 2027.
