Jorge Martin secured his place at the head of the MotoGP grid on Saturday, powering his Aprilia Racing RS-GP26 to pole position at the Red Bull Ring-Spielberg with a stunning 1:27.917 lap in qualifying. The 22-rider field took to the dry 2.7-mile (4.35 km) Austrian circuit, where Martin’s pace proved unbeatable.
Marc Marquez came up just short in his bid for pole, finishing second with a 1:27.932 lap on his Lenovo Ducati Desmosedici GP26, while Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Pedro Acosta completed the front row in third after a 1:27.988 effort.
Martin’s teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, leads the second row with a 1:28.166, joined by SuperFile Trackhouse’s Ai Ogura (1:28.450) and BK8 Gresini’s A. Marquez (1:28.473).
