Former UFC heavyweight Josh Barnett has taken issue with recent remarks made by Bully Ray concerning Jon Moxley.

On social media, excerpts from an episode of Busted Open Radio reveal Bully Ray disparaging the Death Riders, asserting they contribute nothing to AEW, and accusing the Death Riders’ leader, Moxley, of merely acting out pro‑wrestling fantasies. The WWE Hall of Famer also labeled Moxley a ‘fraud’ and claimed he could easily defeat him.

Although the timing of Bully Ray’s remarks is uncertain, Barnett defended Moxley and offered to administer a ‘legendary’ beating to Ray.

“Interesting take, Bully,” Barnett wrote. “Moxley can handle himself, so I don’t need to fight his battles, but if you ever want to experience a thorough, humiliating defeat, I’m ready to help—delivering a legendary beating to you whenever you choose.”

The wrestler and mixed‑martial‑arts fighter competed for NJPW this weekend at the Yuji Nagata‑produced Blue Justice event, partnering with Nagata and Aaron Wolf to defeat Ren Narita, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and Yujiro Takahashi.

Barnett and Moxley are longtime friends and have faced each other twice in Bloodsport events, in 2021 and 2024, when Barnett was still aligned with GCW.

PRODUCE offers to host Bully Ray boxing match —

PRODUCE Wrestling, in partnership with MyAEW, replied to Bully Ray’s remarks and offered to stage a charity boxing match, tagging both Moxley and Barnett as possible participants.

“Hey @bullyray5150, I have an opportunity, venue and everything you need to put the gloves on for charity in New York City. I’d love to host this fundraiser and donate the proceeds to Bronx Legends,” PRODUCE wrote.

“If you’re serious, let’s talk. I have a strong PPV agreement with @myaewofficial. If you’re merely posturing, let us know. @JoshLBarnett @JonMoxley”

Moxley, the current AEW Continental Champion, is preparing for his upcoming title defense against Bandido at Forbidden Door 2026 this Sunday.
