Justin Timberlake has been reflecting on his past in recent months, including public apologies for past behavior. This introspection appears to be part of a larger project looking back on his life and career.
According to Variety, Timberlake is preparing a four-part “tell-all” docuseries about his life, set to premiere on Apple TV this December. While details remain scarce, the series reportedly features an interview with Janet Jackson. Jackson faced significant career and reputational damage following the infamous 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show “wardrobe malfunction,” in which Timberlake exposed her breast.
The 2004 incident has resurfaced in public discourse in recent years as Timberlake’s public image has faced increased scrutiny. On the 20th anniversary of the event, Timberlake shared a statement apologizing “to absolutely fucking nobody.” He has also faced backlash over allegations—detailed in Britney Spears’ memoir—that he urged her to have an abortion during their teenage relationship, as well as public ridicule following his 2024 DWI arrest in the Hamptons. (Contrary to popular memes, the released footage from the arrest did not actually feature him saying, “This is going to ruin the tour.”)
With Timberlake reportedly holding creative control over the docuseries, many are watching to see how he addresses his past missteps and how much culpability he accepts. The series is also expected to feature stories from the height of *NSYNC’s popularity and his successful solo career.
