Kacey Musgraves has canceled three upcoming dates on her Middle of Nowhere Tour, including the opening night in Chicago, without offering an explanation. The cuts remove shows in Chicago, Boston, and Brooklyn from the itinerary — dates that had been added after strong initial demand.
The Chicago and Boston concerts were part of expanded multi-show runs at their respective venues, added once the originally announced dates at the United Center (Aug. 21) and TD Garden (Aug. 28) sold out. Those primary dates remain on the schedule, with Aug. 21 now serving as the tour’s opening night.
A Brooklyn engagement at Barclays Center had been appended after Musgraves had already booked two nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1; both Madison Square Garden dates remain unchanged in the revised lineup.
Other two-night stands on the trek — in Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Seattle — were not affected by the cancellations. Fans have speculated the pullbacks may reflect low ticket sales, or so-called “blue dot fever.” Musgraves has not publicly addressed the changes, as she is currently on vacation in Greece.
The North American leg of the Middle of Nowhere Tour, supporting her recent self-titled album, wraps up on Oct. 27 in Seattle. In January 2027, Musgraves will launch a brief Australian tour before continuing to Europe the following month.
