KARACHI – On Thursday, police shot dead the suspect accused of abducting and murdering a six‑year‑old girl during a raid in the Keamari district, after he opened fire on officers.
According to a statement from the Keamari police spokesperson, a first‑information report (No. 265/2026) under Sections 364‑A and 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code was filed at Jackson Police Station concerning the girl’s abduction and killing.
The spokesperson noted that investigators secured CCTV footage from multiple sites and other evidence, which were meticulously reviewed.
Based on the video and gathered intelligence, authorities identified a credible lead on the suspect’s location.
A police team moved to the Mubarak Mosque area, within Jackson Police Station’s jurisdiction. When the suspect observed the officers, he allegedly fired on them, prompting a retaliatory response.
During the ensuing gunfire, the suspect sustained fatal injuries and later died.
Immediately after the exchange, the crime scene was secured and all pertinent evidence was confiscated in line with legal protocol.
A separate case relating to the police encounter has been opened at Jackson Police Station, and both legal and forensic proceedings are underway.
The spokesperson added that the investigation into the girl’s abduction and murder remains comprehensive, incorporating CCTV material, medico‑legal findings, forensic and technical analyses, and other available evidence.
The girl’s body was recovered from vegetation in the Manora area.
Police Surgeon Dr Sumaiyya Syed reported that the victim had been sexually assaulted, noting extensive injuries across her body and that samples have been collected; the cause of death is pending further reports.
Earlier this month, authorities arrested a 20‑year‑old suspect in the kidnapping, sexual assault and murder of a six‑year‑old boy, whose remains were allegedly dumped in a gunny bag from a third‑floor vacant plot.
