Katseye Debuts on SNL with New Singles ‘Animal’ and ‘Hootie Frutti’

Both tracks hail from Los Angeles girl group Katseye’s most recent EP, “Wild.”

Katseye, the Los Angeles‑based six‑member girl group, made their Saturday Night Live debut by performing two songs from their newly released EP, “Wild.”

On stage Saturday, four of the six members performed “Animal” and “Hootie Frutti,” while Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza remain on hiatus. The EP “Wild,” released in August, also includes the tracks “Pinky Up,” “Bel Air,” and “That Way.”

Katseye, following a May performance at the American Music Awards and a Coachella debut the previous month, formed just two years ago through the talent competition Dream Academy and continues to gain momentum.

Kelly Rowland of Destiny’s Child recently told Rolling Stone that the group could face intense pressure because of its rapid rise.

“In an industry as fast‑paced as music, where there are constantly eyes on you and pressure to keep rising, your health is one of the most sacred things you have,” Rowland said. “I learned during my time in Destiny’s Child that you can show up for your fans and your group while still honoring what you need as an individual.”

Rowland added: “My advice to the Katseye girls would be to listen to themselves, be kind to themselves, and continue supporting one another through every season. Especially on tour, it’s so important to intentionally carve out time to rest and reset in their daily routines. Taking care of your mind and body is what allows you to bounce back, stay resilient, and keep doing what you love.”

Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman have both cited mental‑health reasons for their hiatuses.

Katseye launched their 31‑show Wildworld Tour in Europe earlier this month and will head to the East Coast next, beginning in Miami, moving north through Canada, and concluding in Mexico City in late November.
