Key Details of the Berlin Pride Parade Vehicle Attack

The attack occurred around 22:00 local time (20:00 GMT) when authorities received reports that a white vehicle had driven into crowds at a Pride event in Berlin.

Hundreds of thousands had assembled in Tiergarten park, close to the Brandenburg Gate, for the annual Christopher Street Day celebration.

Several individuals were also stabbed during the incident.

Soon after, organizers cancelled the Pride gathering.

A performance was halted abruptly; organizers took the stage to inform attendees that the event had ended and to begin exiting toward the nearest exits.

As the announcement was made, the word ‘Evacuation’ was projected onto a large screen behind the stage.

Unverified footage shared on social media showed masses of people fleeing the area as emergency vehicles sped to the scene.

At approximately 01:00 local time, police confirmed that one woman had died and 16 others were injured.

Shortly thereafter, law enforcement located the vehicle suspected of being used in the attack; it had collided with a tree.
