PESHAWAR: Khyber Medical University has completed a centralized, computer‑based admission test for undergraduate programmes such as Pharm‑D, Doctor of Physical Therapy, BS Nursing, BS Allied Health Sciences, Public Health and related disciplines.
The test was administered on July 25–26 2026, marking the successful completion of KMU’s inaugural fully computer‑based, paperless admission process, which replaces the traditional paper‑based system and establishes a new standard for transparent, merit‑based, efficient, and technology‑driven admissions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a press release.
A total of 18,165 candidates registered for the KMU‑CAT 2026, and more than 18,000 sat for the two‑day examination at 23 fully air‑conditioned, computer‑based centres located in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Hazara, Swabi, Kohat, Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan, Buner, Chitral, Upper Dir, Parachinar and Islamabad. Results were provided instantly via KMU’s computerized assessment system.
The examination was carried out under strict security protocols and thorough monitoring. Participants underwent biometric verification, identity and document verification, and security screening before entering the testing halls. Each centre was outfitted with modern computers, continuous internet access, CCTV surveillance, backup power, and dedicated technical support staff to guarantee a smooth, transparent, and uninterrupted testing experience.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Ziaul Haq noted that the successful rollout of the university’s first computer‑based admission test demonstrates KMU’s unwavering commitment to merit, transparency, quality and digital innovation, and aligns its admission system with internationally recognised standards.
Registrar Inamullah Khan Wazir visited multiple examination centres during the two‑day test to review arrangements and oversee the examination process.
The university administration expressed gratitude to all candidates, parents, law‑enforcement agencies, district administrations, examination staff and technical teams for their cooperation and support in ensuring a successful and peaceful completion of KMU‑CAT 2026.
