Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi presented the province’s FY2026-27 budget to the KP Assembly.
He began his address by noting that all PTI parliamentarians in the provincial assembly had unanimously agreed to move forward with the budget.
Previously, the budget’s approval was uncertain, with reports suggesting it was tied to a meeting involving detained PTI founder Imran Khan.
Afridi disclosed that the proposed budget contains a deficit of Rs 48 billion.
Earlier in the day, he chaired a provincial cabinet meeting that formally approved the budget.
