The KPMG Women’s PGA Championship announced on Monday that it has increased the tournament purse to $13 million, establishing a new record for prize money in women’s golf.
This marks the ninth consecutive year that the event’s purse has been expanded. In 2022, the prize fund jumped to $9 million, doubling the prior year’s amount. With a $13 million purse this year, the championship now exceeds the $12.5 million prize pool of this year’s U.S. Women’s Open at Riviera Country Club.
The 2025 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship will be held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. The tournament boasts the deepest field in women’s golf, with world‑ranked No. 1 Nelly Korda aiming to capture her third consecutive major at the season’s outset, further fueling her pursuit of a Grand Slam.
Tim Walsh, U.S. chair and CEO of KPMG, said, “We are proud to present the premier major on the LPGA Tour. By partnering with the PGA of America and the LPGA Tour, we are delivering a record purse alongside technology that provides players with real‑time performance insights and fans with richer, more dynamic coverage. Our goal is to sustain momentum for women’s golf.”
