Philadelphia cream cheese is tapping into Americans’ growing appetite for sweet‑and‑spicy foods with a new product developed alongside Mike’s Hot Honey.
Kraft Heinz introduced the Philadelphia Mike’s Hot Honey Whipped Cream Cheese, which blends the brand’s whipped cream cheese with a chili‑pepper‑infused honey. The product launched exclusively at Walmart stores and is expected to expand to additional retailers nationwide in January 2027.
The launch reflects Kraft Heinz’s intensified focus on product innovation and marketing as the company seeks to re‑engage consumers and reverse softer demand. The food giant is investing roughly $700 million this year to boost sales and market share.

Market data show that sweet‑and‑spicy offerings on menus have surged nearly 230 % over the past four years, with especially strong demand among millennials and Gen Z.

“Philadelphia has set the cream cheese standard for over 150 years, and staying at the forefront means continuing to evolve with the way people eat and the flavors they crave,” said Maddy Zingle, vice president of marketing at Philadelphia cream cheese.
The partnership traces back to Mike Kurtz, founder of Mike’s Hot Honey, who first paired his sweet‑and‑spicy blend with blocks of Philadelphia cream cheese when launching his honey brand in 2010.

Philadelphia is also expanding its flavor lineup with a limited‑time Cranberry Orange Cream Cheese and a permanent Salted Caramel Cream Cheese, both intended to broaden the brand’s portfolio.
Kraft Heinz reported second‑quarter sales of $6.26 billion, down 1.4 % from a year earlier, though the result topped Wall Street expectations as the company pushes for stronger performance in North America.
