Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov urged the public not to heed rumors following the death of a Russian lab technician at a Siberian plague research facility.
Peskov said people should rely only on information from Russia’s public health watchdog, which identified the technician’s cause of death as pneumonia of unknown origin.
BBC Russia editor Steve Rosenberg also questioned Peskov regarding US President Donald Trump’s offer of assistance to Russia.
