ISLAMABAD, Sep 24 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) shifted to a bearish trend on Thursday, shedding 1,733.57 points, a decline of 1.01 percent, to close at 170,498.95 points compared to 172,232.51 points in the prior trading session.
The ready market recorded a trading volume of 759.974 million shares, down from 773.593 million shares in the previous session, though the traded value rose to Rs27.539 billion from Rs26.453 billion.
Market capitalisation fell to Rs18.971 trillion, down from Rs19.178 trillion the previous day.
Of the 495 companies traded in the ready market, 101 advanced, 358 declined, and 36 remained unchanged.
Cnergyico PK topped the volume chart with 158.261 million shares, followed by K-Electric Ltd. at 71.889 million shares and F. Nat.Equities at 59.942 million shares.
Among the notable gainers, Pakistan Engineering Company Limited rose by Rs30.92 to close at Rs643.60, while Khyber Textile Mills Limited gained Rs28.18 to settle at Rs1,899.44.
On the decliners’ list, PIA Holding Company LimitedB dropped by Rs403.11 to close at Rs15,529.22, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs139.99 to Rs24,860.01.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover reached 526.471 million shares with a traded value of Rs21.616 billion, compared to 456.574 million shares valued at Rs20.360 billion in the prior session.
Of the 319 companies traded in the DFC market, 29 advanced, 290 declined, and none remained unchanged.
