ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (APP): The benchmark KSE‑100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) climbed on Friday, rising 373.73 points – a 0.21% gain – to settle at 177,696.51 points, up from 177,322.78 points in the prior session.
Trading activity reached 658.327 million shares on the ready market, up from 614.057 million in the previous session, though the total value fell to Rs31.454 billion from Rs34.547 billion.
Market capitalisation rose to Rs19.885 trillion from Rs19.860 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Among the 494 companies listed on the ready market, 202 advanced, 257 declined and 35 closed unchanged, highlighting a mixed trading day.
Bank of Punjab topped the volume chart with 91.717 million shares, followed by Cnergyico PK (90.859 million shares) and WorldCall Telecom (46.401 million shares).
Top gainers included Buxly Paints Limited, which rose Rs69.63 to Rs765.93, and Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited, which added Rs53.00 to close at Rs9,300.00.
Among the decliners, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited dropped Rs429.22 to Rs25,531.36, and Ismail Industries Limited fell Rs35.49 to Rs1,864.00.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover reached 859.712 million shares valued at Rs34.758 billion, up from 500.394 million shares worth Rs27.033 billion in the prior session.
Of the 309 companies traded on the DFC market, 91 rose, 217 fell and one closed unchanged.
