Pakistan international all-rounder Shadab Khan has signed with Lancashire for the remainder of the current T20 Blast season.
The leg-spinning all-rounder arrives as a replacement for Australia’s Chris Green, who was sidelined for the rest of the campaign after sustaining a thumb fracture earlier this month.
The 27-year-old brings an extensive international resume, having represented Pakistan in six Tests and 197 white-ball matches, and is already familiar with English county cricket through previous stints with Sussex and Yorkshire.
“While the loss of Chris Green is disappointing, securing a player of Shadab’s quality and experience on such short notice provides a timely boost to our squad as we enter a critical sequence of matches,” director of cricket Mark Chilton stated via the club’s official website.
Lancashire, currently sitting at the bottom of the North Group at the midpoint of the tournament, will resume their T20 campaign this Friday with an away fixture against the Leicestershire Foxes at 18:30 BST.
