Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison has surpassed Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to become the world’s seventh‑wealthiest individual, as his net worth rose by roughly $3 billion amid a rally in Oracle’s share price.

Key Facts

Ellison’s estimated net worth reached $190.6 billion shortly after 1 p.m. EDT, up $2.9 billion as Oracle shares advanced 2.6 % to about $151.

Huang’s fortune fell by nearly $4 billion on Monday, dropping to an estimated $187.8 billion as Nvidia shares declined 2.6 % to roughly $218.

Oracle shares have gained ground over the past three trading days, climbing 5.4 % in the last five, rebounding from a year‑to‑date low of around $115 in late July.

Nvidia’s stock has also shown resilience, rising 6.2 % over the past five days after hitting a three‑month low of $190 in July.

Ellison And Huang’s Ranking On Forbes’ Billionaire List

The two tech titans occupy a distinct tier on Forbes’ real‑time billionaire list. The nearest billionaire below Huang is former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, with a net worth of $156.2 billion, while the wealthiest individual above Ellison is Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg, at $205.8 billion.

Key Background

Despite his recent climb, Ellison’s overall wealth has remained largely unchanged since the start of the year and is $2 billion lower than at the end of 2025. This stagnation follows a rough performance for Oracle, whose shares are down roughly 23 % since January. The stock peaked in June as part of a broader AI‑driven rally that lifted software and cloud infrastructure names, but it later fell to a year‑low in July after S&P Global downgraded Oracle’s credit rating to BBB‑ and the company took on significant debt to fund AI initiatives.

In contrast, Huang’s wealth has increased by more than $30 billion since the end of 2025, driven by a 17 % rise in Nvidia’s share price. Nvidia has capitalized on strong demand for AI infrastructure, recording robust profit growth and securing partnerships with SpaceX and SK Group.
