Las Vegas Raiders’ Jack Bech Prepares for Emotional Return to New Orleans to Honor His Late Brother

As the Las Vegas Raiders prepare to face the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome on Sunday, the matchup holds profound personal significance for wide receiver Jack Bech.

Bech’s younger brother, Tiger, was tragically killed in a terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day in 2025, which claimed the lives of 14 people in total.

“I just want to rewrite this wrong in New Orleans,” Bech recently shared with Sam Warren of The Athletic. “Get that nasty, dirty taste out of our mouth.”

This upcoming game marks Bech’s first professional appearance in New Orleans, a city where his family frequently traveled to watch Saints games during their childhood.

Fueled by his brother’s memory, Bech carries with him the childhood dreams of playing on the very field inside the Superdome where he and Tiger once watched games as young fans.

Bech noted that achieving this milestone “would mean everything” to his late brother, who would undoubtedly be incredibly proud of his NFL success.

“I know he couldn’t be any happier right now,” Bech reflected.

Selected by the Raiders in the second round of the 2025 draft, Bech has already recorded five receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown in the early part of the 2026 season. As the Raiders aim for an unexpected 3-0 start following a disappointing 3-14 record last season, Bech is poised to make a significant contribution.

The main challenge for Bech will be managing the intense emotions that will inevitably surface on game day. To help him find the right balance, receiver coach Zach Azzani has worked closely with him.

“He said, ‘Play the game with emotions; don’t be emotional,” Bech explained to Warren. “It’s something that’s been super helpful for me. . . Give it everything, leave everything on that field and see what happens by the end of the game.”

No matter the outcome on Sunday, Jack Bech will undoubtedly feel the deep, enduring presence of his brother within the walls of the Superdome, where they once spent their childhood afternoons watching football.
