South Korean multinational K-pop group LE SSERAFIM, known for their NME cover, headlined the closing night of BlizzCon on September 13, marking their third appearance at the event after a three‑year hiatus. Their performance followed the group’s ongoing collaboration with the free‑to‑play shooter Overwatch, which began in November of the previous year.
They performed on the Main Stage at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, a multinational quintet featuring members from South Korea, Japan, and the United States, delivering a condensed 45‑minute set after two days of panels, presentations, and exclusive game reveals hosted by Blizzard.
Huh Yunjin, the New York‑born vocalist and rapper, greeted the enthusiastic crowd, saying, “What’s up, BlizzCon?” After opening with the Latin‑infused track “Boompala,” a May release that samples the 1990s hit “Macarena” by Los Del Río, she expressed gratitude: “We’re thrilled to be back after three years, thank you for having us. We’ve just released a new single, “Made My Night,” which we’ll debut here tonight. Stay tuned and get ready to celebrate.”
The quintet — Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae — followed with the high‑energy techno track “Celebration,” the lead single from their second album “Pureflow Pt. 1,” then performed “Creatures,” the collaborative “Iconic by Mistake” with ILLIT and KATSEYE, “1‑800‑hot‑n‑fun,” and “Saki.”
After a brief pause, the members explained that their outfits paid tribute to distinct Overwatch heroes. Yunjin revealed her hooded leather look was inspired by the Danish marksman Freja, while the others highlighted the characters they honored. They also praised the cosplayers in the front row, and Yunjin congratulated Team Korea, the Overwatch World Cup champions from the same day, saying, “We’re thrilled for you and send our best support.” They dedicated “Perfect Night,” the 2023 Overwatch × LE SSERAFIM release, to “our Overwatch family.”
The set concluded with six tracks: “So Cynical (Badum)” and “Spaghetti” from the previous year, 2024’s trap‑infused hip‑hop “Crazy,” fan favorite “Antifragile,” early hit “Unforgiven,” and the brand‑new single “Made My Night,” the latest exclusive from the LE SSERAFIM × Overwatch partnership. Kazuha explained, “The song was inspired by the dynamic between the playable characters D.Mon and D.Va — it captures the special chemistry between friends.” Yunjin added, “Just like us! This one is for all the D.Mon and D.Va fans.”
