Oct 17 (Reuters) – A Lebanese military delegation will present Beirut’s demands for an end to Israeli attacks in Lebanon at a trilateral meeting in Tampa, Florida, on October 20, the Lebanese presidency said in a post on X on Saturday.
Lebanon and Israel have conducted several rounds of direct talks in recent months, seeking to end hostilities that escalated into a new war on March 2, triggered by the broader regional conflict involving Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.
Under a US‑brokered agreement reached during Israel‑Lebanon negotiations, Beirut committed to disarm Hezbollah, with the expectation that Israeli forces would then gradually withdraw from Lebanese territory. However, Hezbollah has declined to disarm while Israeli troops remain in Lebanon, and Israel has continued striking southern Lebanon.
