Following a challenging Singapore Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton looked inward rather than blaming his team. The Ferrari driver finished sixth at Marina Bay Circuit after opting to ignore a pit‑stop call and stay out on track. Although he skipped the post‑race press conference due to feeling unwell, he later addressed fans through Instagram.
Max Verstappen claimed victory, while Charles Leclerc demonstrated the potential of the Ferrari car by finishing second. Championship leader Kimi Antonelli completed the podium, but Hamilton believes a different strategy could have placed him higher.
“Yesterday wasn’t the result we were looking for, and that’s on me,” he posted. “At a track that’s difficult to overtake you need to try something different, and I chose a strategy that ultimately didn’t deliver. It’s a painful lesson to learn, but I take full responsibility for the decisions I made. In this sport, not every call will work out. It’s about accepting when you get it wrong and how you move forward.”
“I’m grateful to the team for the work they put in every weekend. P6 doesn’t reflect the pace we had in the car, and despite the result there are positives to take away. Massive thanks to the fans in Singapore for the energy. I’ll continue to put the work in and come back fighting at the next race.”

What Actually Went Wrong on Sunday
Ferrari instructed Hamilton to pit during the virtual safety car period, before Leclerc’s stop, but he missed the pit entry despite the team describing the radio call as crystal clear. Hamilton said he switched to a medium tyre aiming for a one‑stop strategy, which ultimately proved less effective than the softer compound used by other cars.
After crossing the finish line, Hamilton apologized over the radio, saying, “Sorry, boys… I let you down today with that strategy.” He added, “It was my decision, and it cost us valuable points.”
He looks forward to redemption at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, scheduled for October 23‑25. Hamilton has assured fans he will return with renewed determination, leaving nothing held back.
