The Detroit Lions announced Monday that they have released cornerback Terrion Arnold, as detailed in Wednesday’s NFL transactions report.
The report specifies that the NFL’s claiming period for players with expiring contracts ends Monday, July 6, at 4:00 p.m. ET.
Arnold faces eight felony charges related to an armed robbery and kidnapping incident in Florida. As a result, he may be placed on paid administrative leave by the NFL if he were still on a roster.
Arnold is set to return to court on Monday as prosecutors seek to reinstate a requirement for him to wear an ankle monitor during home confinement. A prior court ruling had previously denied this request.
Since Arnold is no longer employed by the Lions, the standard protocol applies to defendants released on bond who must remain at home.
