French President Emmanuel Macron has issued a strong call for Europe to oppose what he described as a “return of nationalisms,” urging the continent to reclaim the courageous spirit of its founding pioneers.
Speaking in Metz during Pope Leo XIV’s visit to France, Macron emphasized that Europe must remain a steadfast force for peace, independence, and democracy. He warned against the dangers of insularity and hatred toward others, calling on Europeans to defend a united and democratic continent. The meeting centered on strengthening European integration and promoting lasting peace.
