The icon highlighted her new album’s premiere at Number One on the Billboard 200 chart, expressing both gratitude and awe at its remarkable reception.
I am deeply grateful and astonished by the extraordinary reception of Confessions II, Madonna wrote on Monday in an Instagram post. She thanked everyone who has supported this project and helped bring her dream to life. “Thank you—especially to my fans—for the incredible goodwill and positivity.”
Madonna noted that she’s still pinching herself, unable to believe that her latest album has risen to the top of the charts worldwide.
Released over 20 years after Confessions on a Dance Floor, Confessions II marks the first time Madonna has topped the album charts in the 2020s. She now has ten number‑one albums—spanning the 1980s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s—making her the sole artist with a top‑position in each decade. With ten number‑one placements on both the Billboard 200 and the Hot 100, she joins an elite group, preceded only by The Beatles, Taylor Swift, and Drake.
The 16-track release features titles such as “Danceteria,” “I Feel So Free,” and the duet “Bring Your Love” with Sabrina Carpenter, scored during Carpenter’s headlining set at Coachella. A short film accompanying the LP obsolete premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.
“My dream was to bring people dancing this summer,” Madonna wrote to her fans. “To spread joy! Dreams do come true.”
