Make It British’s founder and organiser, Kate Hills, announced on Instagram (7 July) that the trade show will be relaunched in January of next year.

The event originally ran from 2014 through 2019 before being cancelled in 2020.

Since 2020, almost every factory visit has featured a UK manufacturer expressing how much they miss the show and the business it previously generated, Hills said.

The reinstated exhibition will unite brands, designers, and buyers with UK-based garment manufacturers, fabric mills, trim suppliers, machinery vendors, accessory producers, fabric printers, and other industry stakeholders.

This development follows the launch of the Drapers Conscious Fashion Manifesto in March, which advocates for government backing of UK manufacturing. Investment in domestic factories could generate 100,000 jobs, contribute £15 billion to the economy, support underserved communities, and advance sustainability initiatives for fashion enterprises.
