Man Charged with Incest and Indecent Conduct Against Minor Sister Appears in Hong Kong High Court

Prosecutors have informed Hong Kong’s High Court that a man who engaged in sexual acts with his younger sister during his teenage years was fully aware that his behavior was fundamentally wrong.

Senior Public Prosecutor Karen Ng Ka-yuet stated on Thursday that the older sibling, who is alleged to have been between 11 and 14 years old at the time of the offenses, clearly understood that his actions toward his sister—who was three years his junior—were inappropriate.

The five alleged incidents occurred on undisclosed dates within a short timeframe between 2013 and 2016, taking place at the family’s residence in Sha Tau Kok. The sister, now 20 years old, reported the matter to police in 2021.

The defendant, now 24, has pleaded not guilty to four counts of incest and three counts of indecent conduct toward a child under the age of 16.

Ng explained that the indecent acts were charged separately from the incest counts as they involved distinct sexual conduct.

The prosecution’s case includes statements from the defendant, in which he acknowledged committing these acts. The sister is not expected to testify at trial.
