Manchester United and Arsenal are closely monitoring Bazoumana Touré, with the Newcastle United winger drawing significant attention just months after his arrival at St James’ Park.
The 20-year-old joined Newcastle from Hoffenheim for approximately £43 million in July and is still adapting to the demands of Premier League football. However, his explosive pace and one-on-one ability have kept him firmly on the radar of England’s leading clubs.
United and Arsenal are reportedly the most interested parties, though Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are also tracking his development.
Man United and Arsenal continue to track Touré
Sources within the agent community have informed CaughtOffside that both Manchester United and Arsenal monitored Touré before Newcastle secured his signature, with interest reported around the time of his summer move. That attention has persisted following his early appearances for the Magpies.
Touré has already opened his Premier League account against Leeds United and found the net against West Bromwich Albion in the EFL Cup. While Tottenham and Villa are believed to be watching, no formal approaches have been made.
Newcastle remain relaxed regarding the situation. Touré is contracted until 2031 and is viewed as a central piece of the club’s long-term project.
Touré fits exactly what United and Arsenal are looking for
The appeal is clear. Manchester United continue to seek young attackers with speed and high developmental upside, while Arsenal are keen to add quality and depth in wide areas. Touré satisfies both criteria.
Former Newcastle manager Eddie Howe expressed significant enthusiasm upon the deal’s completion, describing Touré as “a hugely exciting young talent” with “a really high ceiling,” comments made during the club’s official announcement of the signing.
The obstacle for any suitor is Newcastle’s negotiating leverage. Touré cost roughly €50 million only three months ago, is tied to a long-term deal, and has barely begun his Premier League journey. Consequently, the Magpies have virtually no incentive to entertain offers in January.
Tottenham and Villa may linger in the background, but this currently resembles long-term scouting rather than an imminent transfer battle. Should Touré’s trajectory continue upward, however, the question may soon shift from whether Newcastle receive offers to just how substantial those offers become.
