Manchester United are poised to confirm the signings of two players on Friday: goalkeeper Karl Darlow and midfielder Andrey Santos.

The club has accelerated its summer transfer activity, finalising a swift double move to bolster the midfield and reshuffle the goalkeeping options.

Fabrizio Romano Confirms Andrey Santos Has Passed Medical

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Andrey Santos has successfully completed his medical in Manchester ahead of his transfer from Chelsea.

The Brazilian midfielder is now scheduled to sign his contract on Friday morning once both clubs have finalised the required paperwork.

United have agreed a £50 million package for the 22-year-old, with Chelsea securing a 10% sell-on clause as part of the deal.

Santos will commit to a long-term contract running until June 2031, with the club holding an option to extend by a further year.

Karl Darlow Also Set to Finalise Move on Friday

At the same time, United have finalised an agreement for veteran Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

Romano has provided his signature “here we go” confirmation, indicating the 35-year-old will also put pen to paper on Friday.

Darlow joins on a free transfer to act as the primary homegrown backup to first-choice goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The arrival of the experienced Premier League veteran paves the way for a squad reshuffle, clearing the path for Altay Bayindir to complete his departure. Bayindir has been strongly linked with a return to Turkey, with Besiktas reportedly leading the pursuit.

Ederson Medical Underway as United Close in on Third Signing

Beyond the imminent double announcement, a third signing is also nearing completion.

Atalanta midfielder Ederson is currently undergoing medical assessments at the club after an agreement was reached with the Serie A side.

A transfer package worth €44 million (£38.8 million) has been fully agreed with the Italian club.

United’s hierarchy expects a final verdict on the 26-year-old’s medical shortly, according to Romano’s update.

If the Brazilian passes his examinations, he will become Manchester United’s third summer signing and further bolster Carrick’s midfield reconstruction.

The prospective arrivals of Santos and Ederson would signal a strong statement of intent from United, who are prioritising energy, physicality, and technical quality in midfield as they prepare for the new season and a return to Champions League football.
