Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte is reportedly available for transfer this summer as the club looks to reshape its squad, according to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Ugarte has spent much of the past year as a secondary option in the defensive midfield role, often playing behind Casemiro. While Casemiro is anticipated to depart on a free transfer this summer, it appears that will not open a door for the Uruguayan.
United’s leadership has reportedly informed Ugarte’s representatives that he is free to seek a new opportunity, signaling that he is no longer part of the club’s long-term plans. Having signed him from Paris Saint-Germain for £43 million two years ago, Manchester United could face a substantial loss, with his current valuation estimated at just £24 million due to a lack of consistent playing time in the Premier League.
The club is eager to finalize a departure as soon as possible, with concerns that his market value may continue to decline. Several Italian giants, including Inter Milan and AC Milan, are currently monitoring the situation. Additionally, Atletico Madrid and Napoli are said to be admirers of the midfielder’s capabilities.
