Manchester United are reportedly setting their sights on Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert, according to Teamtalk.
The Red Devils had aimed to secure a new left-back during the summer transfer window but failed to identify a viable option before the deadline.
Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall emerged as a primary target, though a move for the Englishman never appeared likely.
Hall has since signed a long-term contract extension with the Magpies, committing his future to the club for the foreseeable future.
Consequently, United may need to explore alternative options, with reports suggesting Truffert has emerged as a leading candidate.
The French international has established a strong reputation during his spell with the Cherries and has also become a regular fixture for Les Bleus.
A move to a bigger club may be on the horizon for the left-back, though Bournemouth are expected to command a substantial transfer fee.
Manager Marco Rose’s side could hold out for a fee in the region of £60 million.
