Amidst the remnants of destroyed structures and the makeshift tents of displaced residents, Gazans assembled to celebrate a mass wedding for Palestinian brides and grooms.
The ceremony, organized by the UAE humanitarian mission Operation Gallant Knight 3, united brides and grooms from across Gaza in a celebration of love and new beginnings in the besieged enclave.
A ceasefire has been in place in Gaza since last October, though it remains fragile.
The Gaza conflict began following the Hamas‑led attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, which resulted in approximately 1,200 fatalities and the hostage taking of 251 individuals.
In response, Israel launched a military operation against Hamas in Gaza, in which over 74,640 civilians have been killed, according to the territory’s health ministry.
