The Batman Part II has been rescheduled for a 2028 release, but director Matt Reeves has provided fans with a new teaser for the upcoming installment.
Through a social media post, the director shared a video showcasing Robert Pattinson fully suited as the Caped Crusader.
The brief clip features a dramatic score as Batman, seen from behind, slowly turns around amidst a heavy downpour, with the flashing lights of a police vehicle visible in the background.
As Batman stares intensely into the camera, the film’s logo appears alongside the updated release date of February 18, 2028—a shift from the previously scheduled October 1, 2027.
While promoting The Drama, Pattinson offered a preview of the sequel, telling Deadline, “The script is extraordinary. I think it’s going to be a really, really special movie and very, very different.”
Pattinson noted that the successor to the 2022 DC Studios hit will diverge significantly from the original, a development that surprised him. “It’s going to be interesting seeing it come out. It’s taking some big swings,” he added.
Pattinson is not alone in his high praise for the screenplay. Colin Farrell, who portrays Oswald “Oz” Cobb (The Penguin) in the franchise, also lauded Reeves’ writing.
“I had many thoughts to share with Matt about the script. I really do think it’s a masterwork. Kind of a contemporary genre masterwork,” Farrell stated on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “It’s so brilliant, and Robert has got such a lovely journey to go on and take the audience through.”
He continued, “It’s dense, it’s really intelligent, it’s so deep and detailed. I’m saying too much. I think he’s going to make an extraordinary film.”
