ївs Meta’s smart‑glasses product has drawn extensive criticism, with concerns over privacy erosion and increased surveillance. Reports of users filming strangers for prank and harassment videos have intensified public backlash, leading many to label the devices “pervert glasses.”

In a recent Business Insider story, Meta announced it would ban certain content created with its glasses from its own platform. Instagram head Adam Mosseri stated that videos “that take advantage of people and harass them, such as many pickup‑line videos,” would be removed.

This move underscores Meta’s dilemma: the product inadvertently enabled users to produce objectionable material, prompting a content ban as a remedial step.
