WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has praised the competitors in AEW’s women’s Blood and Guts match as “truly hardcore,” singling out Megan Bayne for particular acclaim. According to Foley, the performance stands as a career-defining moment for Bayne.
Sharing reaction clips via Instagram Stories following Wednesday’s event, Foley described the contest as “pure insanity” and extended his respect to all participants. He specifically highlighted Bayne, who finished the match bloodied, writing: “Years from now, when we look back at the career of Megan Bayne, this will be one of the matches that defines it.”
Foley also posted an image of himself bowing to Bayne after the show.
Bayne and Kris Statlander opened the women’s Blood and Guts match at Dynamite: Blood and Guts, held at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida. Competing alongside Thekla, Julia Hart, Skye Blue, and Lena Kross as part of the Triangle of Madness and Divine Dominion factions—and later joined by Persephone—Bayne’s team fell to the Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor), Wrathlander (Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron), Willow Nightingale, and TBS Champion Queen Aminata. The bout marked the second women’s Blood and Guts match in AEW history.
According to F4W’s Bryan Alvarez, all competitors from both Blood and Guts matches emerged from the event without serious injury.
Foley, a WWE Hall of Famer, joined AEW in May and made his debut at Double or Nothing.
