Mick Foley, WWE Hall of Fame legend, heaped praise on the female competitors of AEW’s Blood & Guts match Wednesday night, singling out Megan Bayne for particular acclaim.
Foley shared his reactions via Instagram Stories during the November 4 episode of AEW Dynamite, posting clips from the intense encounter and commenting on the performances. At one point, he voiced concern for Bayne after she was left bloodied during the match.
Foley was visibly impressed by the endurance displayed by the competitors.
“This match was pure insanity,” Foley wrote. “Respect to everyone involved. These women are truly hardcore.”
Foley also highlighted Bayne, suggesting her performance in the brutal contest would be remembered as a significant milestone in her wrestling career.
“Years from now, when we look back at Megan Bayne’s career, this will be one of the matches that defines it,” Foley remarked.
Following the match, Foley shared an Instagram post featuring himself bowing before Bayne as a gesture of respect for her performance.
The women’s Blood & Guts match featured The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor), Wrathlander (Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron), Willow Nightingale and Queen Aminata taking on Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart and Skye Blue), Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross), and Persephone.
