KYIV, Ukraine — A Russian assault involving missiles and drones struck Ukraine’s capital, wounding at least 16 people during the overnight hours into Thursday morning, according to local officials.
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported attacks across more than 10 locations. Among the injured were a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, the administration stated in a Telegram post.
Ukraine’s Air Force reported destroying or neutralizing 131 Russian aerial targets during the overnight barrage. The primary targets were in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions, with strikes recorded at 36 locations and debris from intercepted threats falling on five others. The assault included ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and 157 drones and decoys.
In the Dniprovsky district, a warehouse, office building, residential structures, and vehicles sustained damage. A warehouse was damaged in Solomyansky district, while another warehouse and cars were hit in Darnitsky district.
In Podilsky district, authorities reported damage to the roof of a non-residential building.
